SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: Selected Chapters from Riyaadh As-Saaliheen

Selected Chapters from Riyaadh As-Saaliheen from the explanation of Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen

Read by Aboo ‘Abdillaah Hasan ibn Hussein as-Somali (Wednesday @ 10pm KSA)

The book was compiled by Imam An-Nawawi who was the great scholar of Hadith and Fiqh of his time. Abu Zakaria Mohiuddin Yahya Ibn Sharaf al-Nawawi (1234–1278), popularly known as al-Nawawi, an-Nawawi or Imam Nawawi (631–676 A.H. / 1234–1278 CE), was a Sunni Muslim author on Fiqh and hadith. His position on legal matters is considered the authoritative one in the Shafi’i Madhhab. He was born at Nawa near Damascus, Syria. As with many Arabic and Semitic names, the last part of his name refers to his hometown. During his life of 45 years he wrote many books on Islamic studies and other topics. He collected and sourced 42 hadith of the Islamic prophet, Mohammed back to one of his companions. An extremely popular and useful compilation of authentic hadith. Covering every aspect of Islamic belief and moral conduct, it selects approximately 2000 hadith from the six major collections: Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, Tirmidhi, An-Nisai and Ibn Majah. It serves as an excellent hadith primer and daily reader.

Riyadh us Salihen comprises of about 2000 ahadiths in 372 Chapters and 19 Sections. Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Saalih Ibn ‘Uthaymeen was born in the city of Unayzah, Qaseem Region on 27th Ramadhaan 1347 A.H./1926 C.E. in a famous religious family. He received his education from many prominent scholars like Shaykh ‘Abdur-Rahmaan as-Sa’dee, Shaykh Muhammad Ameen ash-Shanqeetee and Shaykh ‘Abdul-’Azeez ibn Baaz. When he entered into teaching, a great number of students from inside and outside Saudi Arabia benefited from him. He had his own unique style of interpretation and explanation of religious points. He was from among those scholars who served Islaam without any type of religious prejudice and kept themselves away from the limitations of blind-following. He was distinguished in his great exertion of effort in religious matters and analogical deductions which clearly prove the religious understanding he possessed, and the correct usage of the principles of religion, he adopted. The Shaykh passed away on Wednesday 15 Shawwaal 1421 A.H. / 10 January 2001 C.E. He was 74 years of age. May Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) have Mercy upon his soul, aameen.
